You’ll immediately notice that the Okaysou isn’t a bulky device. Taking up only 8.7 square inches of desk space while standing just under a foot tall, it’s pretty safe to assume that this air purifier isn’t designed for large hospital rooms, let alone standard living rooms and kitchens.

However, this isn’t a bad thing if you need an air purifier for single bedrooms or other areas of up to 300 square feet. By concentrating all of its highly efficient purifying prowess in smaller spaces, the mere presence of this appliance will make air noticeably more breathable in just a few short hours.

H13 Original HEPA Filter + Customizable HEPA Filters

The most important feature of any air purifier is the type of filter it’s sporting. For the best results, you’ll want to get a device that uses True HEPA Filters—not HEPA-style or HEPA-esque. The Okaysou starts with a washable pre-filter and carbon filter for trapping large particles and odors, then it uses a thick layer of H13 HEPA media that is designed to trap particles 0.3-micron particles with 99.97% effectiveness.

This is the best type of filter you can get for residential air purifiers.

But that’s not all. Okaysou offers three additional H13 HEPA Filters made for highly specific tasks. First, there’s a Toxin Absorber removes toxic fumes, vehicle exhaust, VOCs, and other hazardous gases.

Second is the Odor Remover that would benefit smokers, pet owners, and ambitious amateur cooks the most. Finally, Okaysou has a Germ Defense filter to prevent you and your home from harmful pathogens, moisture, and mold. Each HEPA filter has an average lifespan of up to 4,320 hours or roughly six months of 24-hour usage.

2/4/8-hour Timer

Remember how we said that the Okaysou is one of the simpler air purifiers on the market? By this, we mean it’s not packing a smart air-quality detector that automatically turns on when concentrations of airborne contaminants reach a certain threshold. Instead, you get a handy 2/4/8-hour timer that runs one of the three selected fan speeds continuously until the timer has expired.

Change Filter Light

Like most air purifiers, the Okaysou has internal sensors that check on the quality of the installed filter. When the filter is nearing the end of its life—i.e. it has become too clogged to optimally purify air—a light on the Okaysou’s control panel will turn on and alert users that it’s time to swap the H13 HEPA filter out. Please pay attention to this LED indicator since overusing an expired filter can actually lead to worsened indoor air quality.

Whisper-Quiet on Sleep/Low Speed Mode

The sign of a high-quality air purifier is that you’ll hardly notice it’s there. While operating, the Okaysou produces noises within a range of 24 and 51 decibels. During the day, ambient household noises should mask the 51-decibel buzz of this device. On sleep mode or its lowest fan setting, this device produces a gentle, whisper-quiet hum of white noise that many customers claim helps soothe them to fall asleep quicker.

Noise Output
Setting Decibel (dB)
1 46 (Moderate snoring)
2 50 (Conversation]
3 57 (Busy Street)

Optional Nightlight

If you keep the Okaysou in your bedroom and are afraid of the dark, you can turn on the optional nightlight that emits a soothing dark-blue light to keep monsters at bay. Additionally, if you don’t want bright LEDs piercing through your eyelids, you can turn the control panel’s lights off completely.

If you have a large space you want to remove irritants from, We recommend the Airmega 400. All of Coway air purifiers do an excellent job of attacking indoor pollutants, and we highly recommend any of them.

The Levoit Vista 200 air purifier has some strong suits, but in our opinion it falls short of carving out a meaningful niche for itself. Its ideal use would be in a small bedroom occupied by someone who is sensitive to noise.

With high end air cleaning performance and a whisper quiet fan, the Winix 5300-2 is the perfect combination of power and finesse. It cleared airborne particulates out of our smokey testing room faster than any other model.
